You can damage any reed by bending it too hard. The reason draw 5 is
more vulnerable is that some people want to bend it to a new semitone,
which is not going to happen no matter how much pressure you apply. If
you are well aware of the bend's musical limitations, it should be no
more stressful to the reed than any other bend.
I personally like to use small bends like this one for a glissando
effect when playing very fast.
